Best Thing Since Sliced Bread...

My uncle comes home today, with some ultra new ,ultra sharp, new technology stainless steal- KNIFE. Ofcourse the knife is all nicely wrapped in a cardboard box and looks like one of those 20 dollar things you buy at 1am on the shopping channel that at 1am you just desperately needed but the day it arrives you ask yourself over and over again, what the fuck is this?
On the cardboard box which was clearly designed in the 80s, there is that phrase. The phrase that is in all new products. THE BEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD.

Was the invention of sliced bread truly that great? I mean honestly i see it as the steping stone towards laziness. Years ago people had to make their own bread, then they had to go to the bakery and buy it and go home and cut it, today you drive to the grocery store and buy an all well preserved pre-cut or "sliced" bread which can last a month with out going stale... and people as themselves why our generation is fat and lazy. I am not saying that it is thanks to the bread, i am just saying that who ever was GREAT enough to invent sliced bread should and can blame himself or herself for the lazyness in our world today. They moved from sliced bread to escalators to frozen foods to MICROWAVEABLE foods, next thing we now we will be able to sit down for all day and push buttons everywhere to do things for us. Some might see that as great but I personally see that as a disgrace and quite offensive.

SO when i see "best thing since sliced bread" .....i want to take that old dusty cardboard box containing that cheap overly expensive made in china knife and throw it out the window.
